Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has ordered a swift investigation into the killing of a teacher by bandits in Isiolo County on Wednesday, February 19, what he believes was an act of revenge for intensified police crackdowns.

• The investigation will be led by Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja to apprehend those responsible.
• Murkomen announced that disarmament operations in Isiolo will be intensified to restore peace, following President William Ruto's directive.
• The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and National Intelligence Service (NIS) were deployed two weeks prior to combat banditry in Isiolo, Laikipia, Samburu, and Meru Counties.
• Murkomen also ordered a crackdown on police officers abetting insecurity and pledged to transfer officers who have overstayed in these areas.
