Geoffrey Adjiki, brother-in-law of Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, has reportedly gone missing after being apprehended by six DCI officers on Tuesday, February 17. Babu Owino claims Adjiki made a distress call stating he was being taken to Nairobi Area Police Headquarters, but was not found there.

• Geoffrey Adjiki had a meeting with Babu Owino a day prior, revealing he was receiving serious threats from a powerful Principal Secretary.
• The Principal Secretary allegedly vowed to destroy Adjiki and his businesses, and is purportedly coordinating hired gangs for a rally in Kakamega on February 22.
• Babu Owino believes this incident is an attempt to intimidate the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Linda Mwananchi formation, which includes ousted Secretary General Edwin Sifuna and Siaya Governor James Orengo.
• Babu Owino dared the Principal Secretary to confront him in Kakamega and demanded that authorities present Adjiki in court if there are charges against him.
