The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has refuted claims of security lapses, specifically denying the presence of armed individuals at Kisumu International Airport on Saturday, February 21.

• The KAA stated that the images circulating online, shared by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, were taken outside the airport perimeter and thus beyond their security jurisdiction.
• Senator Edwin Sifuna had alleged that his team had to re-route due to the presence of "armed goons" and a "well-orchestrated plan to disrupt his tour."
• The KAA reiterated that airport premises remained "extremely secure as per protocol" and that "at no time were unauthorised individuals... present within the airport premises."
