The mysterious death of government officer Laban Ekidor Ekure, 44, after disappearing from a work training in Eldoret has raised suspicions of foul play. His body was discovered days later, showing signs of severe torture.

• Ekure, a Supply Chain Management officer, went missing on January 27 after attending training at Starbucks Hotel.
• His body was found unconscious in Kisumu Ndogo, Langas estate, and a postmortem revealed the cause of death as "severe subcutaneous hemorrhage due to assault."
• The family is calling for an independent inquiry, alleging previous threats from a colleague and lack of cooperation from local authorities.
