A Uganda Prisons Service officer is on the run after allegedly shooting dead three people, including two supervisors, at Kiboga Prison on Sunday, February 23, 2026. The incident occurred around 10:00am.

• The victims were identified as Assistant Superintendent of Prisons Hope Catherine, Principal Officer I Akishuri Bright, and Ms Ayebare Sarah, the spouse of the Officer in Charge.
• The suspect, identified as Warder No. 13544 Anguyo Moses, fled the facility after the shooting.
• The firearm used in the attack has been recovered, but the suspect remains at large and is considered dangerous.
