President William Ruto has intervened in the political dispute in Kiambu County following the recent demolitions in Githurai, urging local leaders to cease "finger-pointing" and work collaboratively.

• The demolitions, carried out by KeNHA on Thursday, February 19, displaced hundreds of traders.
• Governor Kimani Wamatangi called for compensation for the affected traders, suggesting KSh 10,000 to KSh 20,000 per person.
• The President also addressed the ongoing rivalry between Governor Wamatangi and Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a, vowing to convene a reconciliation meeting.
