A Grade 10 student at Ngelani Boys High School, Samwel Munyao, has tragically died in an accident involving a water bowser within the school compound on Sunday, February 22.

• The student was fatally injured when he allegedly slipped while attempting to ride the water bowser, which was reportedly faulty and often required students to push-start.
• The grieving family is seeking justice and claims the school's administration has been evasive regarding the incident.
• The driver of the water bowser, Wilson Mbithi, has been released on cash bail as investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) continue, with a postmortem scheduled for February 26, 2026.
