KCB Bank has taken over the implementation of Kenya's Sh42 billion smart driving licence project from the National Bank of Kenya (NBK), which was acquired by Access Bank Plc.

• The project, a 21-year Public Private Partnership (PPP), is valued at Sh42 billion.
• Key organizations involved are KCB Bank, Pesa Print Limited, and the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
• The overhaul aims to address rising road safety concerns, with road fatalities increasing to over 5,100 in 2024.
