• The student, David Ooga Mokaya, was acquitted by Senior Principal Magistrate Caroline Nyaguthii on February 19, 2026.
• Mokaya had been accused of posting false information about President Ruto's death on the X platform, with his phone data reportedly shared with investigators without consent.
