Kenyan Olympic pioneer boxer Elizabeth Andiego has officially turned professional after nearly two decades in amateur boxing. The 39-year-old captain of the national boxing team, Hit Squad, will make her professional debut tomorrow night at the “Nightmare in Nairobi II” promotion.

• Elizabeth Andiego, the first female boxer from East Africa to compete in the Olympics (2012 London Games), is now a professional boxer.
• She will face Tanzanian boxer Christina Raura in a non-title super middleweight bout.
• Andiego, a multiple Africa Championship medalist, cited a lack of opponents as a reason for her transition to professional boxing.
