President William Ruto has announced that all Kenyan prisoners will be enrolled in the Social Health Authority (SHA) coverage to ensure they receive adequate healthcare.

Approximately 60,000 inmates across 140 penal institutions will benefit from this initiative.
The President made the announcement at the Prisons Staff Training College in Ruiru on February 26.
The government will cover insurance premiums, and the registration process is already 56 per cent complete.
