China and the United States are preparing for their sixth round of trade talks following a US Supreme Court ruling that invalidated certain tariffs.

• The US Supreme Court struck down a 10 percent "fentanyl tariff" and a 34 percent "reciprocal tariff" on Chinese goods.
• The White House quickly imposed a temporary 10 percent import surcharge on all trading partners under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974, set to expire in 150 days.
• China has called on the US to revoke existing unilateral tariffs and is ready for "candid consultations" in the upcoming talks.
