The Kenya Dental Association (KDA) has issued a stark warning to prospective learners, urging them to avoid potentially fraudulent and unregulated "imitation courses" being advertised nationwide.

The KDA highlighted confusion surrounding a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Oral Health program at a popular private university, clarifying it is not equivalent to the professional Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree.
Only the University of Nairobi and Moi University are currently accredited and licensed to train dentists in Kenya.
The warning follows a directive from the Ministry of Health for the private university to discontinue the misleading Oral Health program due to misalignment with public needs.
