The planned meeting between Senate leadership and the Council of Governors (CoG) has been indefinitely postponed after Senate Speaker Amason Kingi cited "contempt of Parliament" by county chiefs for failing to appear before Senate committees.

• Speaker Kingi warned that the governors' absence was hindering the review of Auditor-General reports, with a constitutional deadline of March 31, 2026 approaching.
