The nomination process for the 2027 World Athletics Council elections has officially opened. These elections will take place at the World Athletics Elective Congress in Beijing, China, just before the World Athletics Championships in September 2027.

The Congress will elect a President, four Vice Presidents, and 13 Council Members for the 2027-2031 term.
Athletics Kenya President Lt Gen. (Rtd) Jackson Tuwei, currently a World Athletics Vice President, is eligible for re-election.
Nominations are due by June 1, 2027, with candidates needing vetting panel approval by March 31, 2027.
