The bid by Sarah Wairimu Cohen, the widow of Dutch billionaire Tob Cohen, to halt her murder trial has been dismissed by the Kibera High Court.

• The trial for the July 2019 murder, accused of being committed before dumping the body in a septic tank, will now proceed between May and July 2026.
• Justice Diana Kavedza ruled that the court lacked jurisdiction to grant the reliefs sought, including declaring the trial a mistrial, stating that appeals are the proper recourse for alleged legal errors.
• Cohen had claimed the judge was biased and made rulings favoring the prosecution, allegations which the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) dismissed as a tactic to delay the conclusion of the six-year-old case.
