A major counterfeit alcohol network has been dismantled in Trans Nzoia County following a pre-dawn raid by a multi-agency team led by the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA). Three suspects were arrested during the operation.

  • More than 400 litres of industrial ethanol were seized, along with thousands of counterfeit packaging cartons and fake Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) excise stamps, indicating significant tax evasion.
  • The operation was led by NACADA, with CEO Dr. Anthony Omerikwa emphasizing the focus on dismantling organized illegal alcohol and drug trade networks.
  • The illicit packaging plant was discovered in a homestead strategically located between two churches, an attempt to avoid suspicion.
