Kenyan leaders, including President William Ruto, are mourning the tragic death of Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ngeno, who perished in a helicopter crash in Mosop Constituency, Nandi County, along with six others.

• The late MP was remembered by President Ruto as a "progressive and devoted servant of the people" who was "focused, vocal, and fearless."
• Other prominent figures mourning include Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, and Senate Speaker Amason Kingi, all of whom lauded Ngeno's commitment and leadership.
• MP Johana Ngeno was serving his third term in Parliament and had been instrumental in passing the Affordable Housing Act, 2024 as chairperson of the Housing, Urban Planning and Public Works Committee.
