Kenya's anti-doping agency has provisionally suspended 27 athletes, including prominent marathon runner Rita Jeptoo and national 400m hurdles champion Wiseman Were, for doping violations.

Rita Jeptoo, a former two-time Boston and Chicago Marathon winner, was suspended again after testing positive for anabolic androgenic steroids.
The list also includes Wiseman Were, a Commonwealth 4x400m relay bronze medallist, suspended for missing three drug tests since August 2025.
Kenya's Anti-Doping Agency (ADAK) made the announcement, bringing the total number of Kenyan athletes suspended since 2017 to over 140.
