Kenya's National Assembly is reviewing a supplementary budget of Sh245.9 billion for the 2025/26 financial year, aimed at addressing emerging priorities and shortfalls, despite exceeding the constitutional 10 percent expenditure threshold.

• Key ministries receiving additional funds include Defence (Sh24.4 billion), Agriculture (Sh19 billion), and Higher Education (Sh16.69 billion).
• The supplementary estimates were presented by National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi amidst a revenue shortfall of Sh111.6 billion by December 2025.
• The additional allocations cover various needs, such as salary shortfalls, disaster response, infrastructure projects, and subsidies for fertilizer and education loans.
