United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Monica Kathina Juma as the new Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV).

• Monica Kathina Juma, Kenya's current National Security Adviser, will succeed Ghada Fathi Waly.
• She brings extensive experience from various senior roles in Kenyan government ministries, including Energy, Defence, and Foreign Affairs.
• Her previous diplomatic roles include serving as Kenya's Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union.
