The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has indefinitely closed the Migori River Bridge due to dangerously rising water levels caused by recent heavy rains. The closure, effective Saturday, March 7, 2026, will remain in place until the situation is deemed safe.

• The bridge is closed "until further notice" to ensure public and motorist safety.
• KeNHA, via its Director General Eng. Luka Kimeli, made the announcement.
• Motorists are advised to use the Kiringi Bridge along the Migori–Kehancha Road as an alternative route.
