NBA Africa, in partnership with the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) Group, has launched a new component for students with disabilities within its Basketball Experience (BE) programme in Kenya. The initiative aims to foster life skills and social inclusion through adapted basketball training.
- The programme will benefit 32 specialised schools for children with disabilities across Nairobi, Kajiado, Machakos, and Kiambu counties.
- Key figures present at the launch at Isinya School for the Deaf included Principal Secretary State Department for Youth Affairs & Creative Economy Fikirini Jacobs and the Ambassador of France to Kenya Arnaud Suquet.
- Funded by AFD and implemented by the Kenya Red Cross, this expansion builds on a previous Jr. NBA clinic that included young people with hearing impairments.
