The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has filed a constitutional petition challenging the alleged unlawful access and use of protesters' personal data by government agencies and telecommunications companies between 2024 and 2025.

• LSK is suing multiple respondents, including telecom operators, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
• The petition alleges that telecommunications providers disclosed subscriber data without court orders, violating the Data Protection Act, 2019.
• Justice Lawrence Mugambi has directed the petition to be served to all respondents, with further directions scheduled for April 9, 2026.
