Kenyan manufacturers are protesting a significant increase in the Standards Levy, warning of potential massive job losses and price hikes for goods and services.

• Manufacturers must now pay a maximum annual levy of Ksh4 million (rising to Ksh6 million later) to the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), up from Ksh400,000.
