Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has urged security officers to intensify their focus on the effective management of natural resources to mitigate conflicts within Kenya.

• The call was made during the start-up workshop for the Integrated Natural Resource Management Programme in Eldoret on March 10, 2026.
• PS Omollo emphasized that sustainable natural resource management is a "critical pillar of national security" in today's complex landscape.
• He highlighted the direct link between environmental stress, resource scarcity due to climate variability and degradation, and resulting insecurities, citing past conflicts over pasture and water, and the recent devastating flash floods.
