A Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer and two accomplices have been sentenced to seven years in prison each for trafficking a rhino horn in Homa Bay.
- The convicts were found in possession of a 2.9-kilogram rhino horn.
- The case involved KDF officer Bernard Omondi and his two co-accused, arrested during a joint operation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), and regular police.
- Each convict also faces a Ksh3 million fine with a default sentence of five years, and their sentences will run consecutively.
