The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is set to launch a 30-day marathon voter registration drive starting March 30, 2026, aiming to register 2.5 million new voters.

• The IEBC is requesting Sh100 million from Parliament to fund a media campaign for this initiative.
• The ultimate goal is to reach a projected target of 6.3 million new voters, contributing to a total voter register of 28.5 million for the 2027 General Election.
• This ambitious drive faces the challenge of engaging young people, who have historically shown low participation in past registration exercises, especially considering only 216,924 new voters were registered in the last six months through ongoing efforts.
