Kenya's Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), General Charles Kahariri, was awarded France's highest order of merit, the Legion of Honour, for his leadership and contributions to security cooperation.

• General Charles Kahariri received the Legion of Honour from the French Ambassador to Kenya, Arnaud Suquet, aboard the French ship DIXMUDE on Friday, March 13.
• Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the National Defence University-Kenya, Major General Joyce Sitienei, was also awarded the National Defence Medal – Gold Level.
• The awards recognize their roles in strengthening defence cooperation and promoting regional security, coinciding with the arrival of over 800 French military personnel in Mombasa for joint training and maritime security initiatives.
