The National Youth Service (NYS) has commenced a nationwide recruitment drive for youth aged 18–24, running from Monday, March 16, to March 21.

• The initiative aims to enlist young Kenyans for national service, skill development, and contributions to public works.
• The NYS, re-established by the National Youth Service Act, 2018, is seeking to recruit 100,000 young people annually by 2027/2028.
• Selected recruits will undergo a six-month paramilitary training followed by a National Service phase and subsequent Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) at NYS institutions.
