The Communication Authority of Kenya (CA) is proposing to introduce a permit processing fee for all Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment imports processed through the National Electronic Single Window System (NESWS), also known as Kenya TradeNet.

• The fee will apply to importers, exporters, customs clearing agents, licensees, and other participants in the ICT sector.
• The CA emphasized that the fee is necessary due to its role in a structured process involving document checking, compliance verification, and inspections to prevent counterfeit ICT products.
• Stakeholders have until April 30, 2026, to submit their views on the proposed charges through electronic channels.
