The Kenya Forest Service (KFS) has partnered with the Ragati Chehe Mountain Bongo Conservation Trust to establish a critical 15-year refuge for the critically endangered Mountain Bongo in Nyeri County.

• A 63-acre section of the Ragati-Chehe forest will be managed by the trust to develop conservation facilities.
• Key organizations involved include the Rhino Ark Kenya Charitable Trust, Mount Kenya Trust, Mara Elephant Project, and the Wilder Institute Calgary Zoo.
• This initiative aims to create a secure environment for the species, of which fewer than 80 individuals are believed to remain in the wild.
