Kenya's Transport CS Davis Chirchir has confirmed that the government is moving forward with plans to dual the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway and other key roads across the country.
- The Nairobi-Mombasa Highway dualling will commence after the completion of a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) assessment report.
- Other prioritized projects include the dualling of the Kisumu-Kakamega Road, funded by the new National Infrastructure Fund, and the redesign of the dangerous Nithi Bridge.
- The government is also seeking funds for improvements at the Coptic Roundabout and on the Kisumu-Muhoroni road.
