Kenya is set to significantly enhance its drought resilience efforts in Northern Kenya through a proposed supplemental loan agreement with KfW Development Bank.

An additional financing of Ksh 1.34 billion (EUR 9 million) will boost the Drought Resilience Programme in Northern Kenya (DRPNK).
The programme is being transitioned to County Governments, with Marsabit and Turkana set to implement these initiatives.
The funding will focus on climate adaptation, livelihood support, water harvesting, and climate-resilient infrastructure, with repayment due between 2028 and 2058.
