Oburu Odinga, Party Leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), has debunked a viral social media notice falsely claiming Babu Owino would be proposed as the new Secretary General.

• The fake notice, purportedly from the Daily Nation newspaper on March 18, suggested Babu Owino would replace current SG Edwin Sifuna at the upcoming National Delegates Conference (NDC) on March 27.
• Oburu Odinga explicitly stated, "This publication is fake... I have not issued any such statement."
• Babu Owino himself rejected the proposed nomination, asserting his ambition to be Party Leader, not Secretary General.
