The Embu County Assembly has formally requested the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate an alleged irregular payment of Ksh.3 million to a private firm.

The payment was reportedly made to JamboPay after its contract for a revenue collection system had expired on April 6, 2023.
This directive follows the adoption of a report by the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
The Assembly cited violations of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, 2015 and has given the County Executive Committee Member for Finance and Economic Planning 30 days to resolve all outstanding audit queries.
