The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) in Nairobi, Kenya, met with regional and international partners on Wednesday, March 18, to strengthen the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

• Discussions focused on enhancing regulatory frameworks through increased regional cooperation and cross-border information sharing.
• Key participants included representatives from the Kenya National Public Health Institute (KNPHI) Antimicrobial Resistance Secretariat, the Swedish Medical Products Agency, the East African Community (EAC) Secretariat, and the National Drug Authority.
• The meeting was held under the Harmonised Regulatory Systems Strengthening for East Africa (HARMONEA) project, funded by the European Commission, aiming for a harmonized antimicrobial management approach across EAC states using a “One Health” framework.
