Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja has ordered the immediate demolition of illegal structures along riverbanks and the relocation of people occupying riparian land as part of a flood mitigation plan.

• The operation commenced following a 48-hour action report submitted by the Infrastructure Subcommittee.
• Governor Sakaja personally oversaw a demolition exercise in Westlands, citing the need to restore natural river flow.
