Kenya Railways has assured Kisumu residents that all affected individuals will receive compensation following the upcoming commissioning of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) line.

Compensation will be provided for Project Affected Persons (PAPs), with gazettement, valuation, and payment in progress.
Key stakeholders include Kenya Railways Corporation MD Philip Mainga and President William Ruto, who will commission the line.
The SGR Phase 2B spans 264km with an 8.69km branch to Kisumu port, boasting a freight capacity of 4,000 tonnes and a passenger train speed of 120km/hr.
