- Compensation will be provided for Project Affected Persons (PAPs), with gazettement, valuation, and payment in progress.
- Key stakeholders include Kenya Railways Corporation MD Philip Mainga and President William Ruto, who will commission the line.
- The SGR Phase 2B spans 264km with an 8.69km branch to Kisumu port, boasting a freight capacity of 4,000 tonnes and a passenger train speed of 120km/hr.
