X, formerly Twitter, has introduced a new dislike button for comments as part of a limited test, aiming to combat spam and improve content quality.

• The dislike feature is currently only available to verified accounts and subscribers to prevent misuse by bots.
• Nikita Bier, X's Head of Product, stated the feature was developed in approximately 60 seconds and aims to "enormously" decline the financial incentive to spam.
• Unlike Reddit's public downvote system, dislikes on X are private and used to inform algorithms and model training rather than publicly penalizing comments.
