Two aspirants have withdrawn from the race for the Emurua Dikirr parliamentary seat within the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, backing Bernard Ng’eno, a former aide to the late MP Johana Ng’eno. This comes as the UDA National Election Board promises fair nominations for the upcoming by-election.

• The by-election is scheduled for May 14, occasioned by the death of MP Johana Ng’eno.
• Bernard Ng’eno will now compete against the late MP's widow, Ms Nayianoi Ng’eno, and three other candidates in the UDA nominations set for March 27.
• The constituency has 44,447 voters spread across 94 polling stations and the poll is estimated to cost Sh59 million.
