The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has registered 250,391 new voters since launching its Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise on September 29 last year.

New registrations are heavily concentrated in urban areas, with Nairobi leading with 49,055 new voters, followed by Kiambu with 20,404.
Commissioner Dr. Alutalala Mukhwana expressed concern over low registration in arid and semi-arid regions and a low uptake among youth aged 18-20.
Overall, Kenya's total registered voters now stand at 22,352,923, with those aged above 35 dominating new registrations.
