A 35-year-old woman, Lucy Adhiambo Ouma, was tragically killed by a crocodile while fetching water from River Yala in East Yimbo location on March 25, 2026.

• The attack occurred around 4:00 pm.
• Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and National Government Administrative officers responded to the incident.
• Locals have appealed to the government for intervention due to "rampant crocodile attacks" in the area.
