The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has refuted claims linking Police Constable Samuel Gathitu Ng’ang’a, one of four officers arraigned in connection with a Kitengela robbery, to the Deputy President's security team.

• Four police officers were granted KSh50,000 cash bail each in connection with the robbery of a Congolese national.
• The involved officers are from Muungano Police Station, Elwak Police Station, and DCI Kitengela.
• The suspects allegedly robbed the victim of a diamond necklace valued at USD 1,905 and cash amounting to USD 3,000, EUR 300, and KSh500.
