Oburu Odinga has been officially elected as the Party Leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) following a Special Delegates Conference, with full authority handed to him at the party's SessionalDC. Gladys Wanga was voted in as National Chair of ODM during the same conference. However, ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna has publicly declared the National Delegates Conference meeting held at Jamhuri Grounds to be fake, highlighting deepening party divisions.
