The Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) has lifted the ban on avocado harvesting, citing improved fruit maturity across major growing regions. This decision will allow avocado exports to resume by sea starting April 2, 2026.

• Exported avocados will undergo packhouse inspection from April 7, 2026.
• The AFA, following a survey in March 2026, stated that harvesting for oil processing will commence on April 30, 2026.
• The AFA warned that exporters and processors found handling immature avocados will face license revocation.
