Traders at the Port of Mombasa are already facing cargo delays ahead of a 36-hour scheduled maintenance of the Integrated Customs Management System (ICMS). The system shutdown, intended to improve performance, is causing significant disruptions to customs operations.

The ICMS maintenance is scheduled from Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 6pm to Monday, April 6, 2026, at 6 am.
The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) is prioritizing perishable and time-bound goods.
This is the second ICMS shutdown in two months, with the previous one lasting over 72 hours.
