The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has outlined critical upgrade requirements for Kasarani and Talanta Stadiums in Kenya ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

• Kasarani Stadium requires significant improvements including upgraded spectator flow, enhanced hospitality areas, pitch reconstruction, improved floodlighting (3,000-lux), and upgraded safety and security measures.
• Talanta Stadium, currently under construction, needs validation of spectator movement plans, proper zoning, confirmation of its Venue Operations Centre (VOC), and coordination of critical systems like lighting and backup power.
• Nyayo Stadium is unlikely to host matches as it doesn't meet standards, and proposed renovations may not be completed on time, potentially relegating it to a training ground.
• The government's commitment to paying the Ksh 3.9 billion hosting fee is crucial for Kenya to retain its hosting rights.
