Kenya's Ministry of Agriculture has mandated full traceability for all livestock exports using the new ANITRAC digital platform to bolster the nation's export sector.

• Livestock will be fitted with digital microchip tags to track them from birth to slaughter, aligning with international standards.
• The initiative was announced by Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe during the inauguration of the new Board at the Kenya Veterinary Board.
• This move aims to enhance animal disease control, prevent theft, ensure food safety, and secure international market access, particularly in the Middle East.
