Kenyan long-distance runner Albert Korir has been given a five-year ban from athletics after admitting to using the banned substance synthetic erythropoietin (EPO). The anti-doping agency confirmed the sanction following an out-of-competition test in Kenya.

The ban, effective from January 8, 2026, will last until January 7, 2031.
The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) imposed the ban on the 32-year-old athlete.
